statement
My current work is a series of watercolor paintings about essential cycles in nature. I am interested in how natural systems adapt, struggle and find a way to survive in a quickly changing environment. I use watercolor because it is both bold and subtle and it can embody the flowing qualities of soil mixing with water, release and absorption of nutrients and gases. I use bright colors to highlight and celebrate these systems because I am trying to find hope in the survival of these essential relationships.
